CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate change happens because of many factors, the sun’s intensity, volcanic eruptions, and changes in naturally occurring greenhouse gas concentrations. Climate change describes a change in the average conditions, such as temperature and rainfall, and in a region over a long period of time. NASA scientists have observed the earth’s surface is warming, and many of the warmest years on record have happened in the past 20 years.
Many factors affect climate change, latitude depends on how close or how far it is to the equator, ocean currents are specific currents that have different temperatures, wind, air masses, and heated ground that causes air to rise which results in lower air pressure. The elevation is the main factor, the higher up one is the colder and drier it will be, finally the nearness to water.
As humans, we contribute to climate change by causing changes in the earth's atmosphere in the amounts of greenhouse gases, aerosols (small particles), and cloudiness. The largest known contribution comes from the burning of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide gas into the atmosphere. Nevertheless, the conclusion is that natural systems around the world are being affected by regional climate changes, particularly temperature increases, and that these temperature increases are very likely to be the result of anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases.
